Description
This lot consists of 27 rounds of 8mm Mauser centerfire ammunition manufactured by Winchester under the Super-Speed Power-Point product line. Designed for hunting and sporting applications, these cartridges are loaded with 200 grain soft-point bullets intended for controlled expansion upon impact. The ammunition is presented in a translucent red plastic storage box with a grid-style divider for organization. The lot includes a fragment of the original yellow and red cardboard box label which displays the Winchester W logo and the Super-Speed trademark. Verbatim printed text on the label includes 8 mm MAUSER, 200 GR. SOFT PT. BULLET, and POWER-POINT, along with the manufacturer product code W8MM1. The cartridges feature brass casings and exposed lead tips, showing characteristics of factory-loaded sporting ammunition from the mid-20th century.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in overall fair to good vintage condition. The brass cartridge cases exhibit minor surface tarnish and oxidation consistent with age and storage. The exposed lead soft-point bullet tips show varying degrees of dulling and surface oxidation. The included cardboard label fragment is worn and torn with some discoloration but remains largely legible. The translucent red plastic box is intact with no significant cracks or damage visible. The ammunition appears to be live, although it has not been function-tested and is sold as a collectible or for components.
