Description
This item is a modified Third Reich style edged weapon, categorized as a post-war souvenir or fantasy piece. It incorporates an original German military K98 bayonet blade fitted into a non-regulation decorative hilt. The hilt is constructed of cast white metal with a textured pebbled grip and a pommel shaped into a stylized eagle head. A circular medallion is integrated into the center of the grip, mimicking a German Army belt buckle with the motto GOTT MIT UNS above an eagle clutching a wreathed swastika. The blade ricasso is stamped with the serial number 460 on one side and the manufacturer code S869g on the opposing side. The bayonet is accompanied by a brown leather scabbard and frog.

Condition report:
The steel blade exhibits significant age-related wear, including thinning of the original finish and areas of surface oxidation and pitting. The cast metal hilt shows a grainy, porous surface texture with visible green verdigris corrosion within the recesses of the pebbled grip. The leather scabbard and frog are in poor to fair condition, showing heavy crazing, significant cracking, surface loss, and frayed stitching. The leather is dry and brittle.
