Description

This lot features a High Standard Model H-D Military semi-automatic pistol chambered for the .22 Long Rifle cartridge. The pistol is configured with a 6.75-inch round barrel and a blued finish that exhibits significant thinning and transition to a gray patina, particularly along the length of the barrel and on the high edges of the slide and frame. The firearm is fitted with factory checkered wood grip panels which show moderate wear; the left panel contains a prominent light-colored scratch near the center. Sighting is provided by a fixed front blade and an adjustable rear notch. This example includes one detachable magazine featuring a high-visibility green follower and a thumb loading button. Key markings include the model designation on the left side of the slide as HI-STANDARD and MODEL H-D MILITARY, while the left side of the frame is stamped MADE IN U.S.A., THE HIGH STANDARD MFG. CO., NEW HAVEN, CONN., PATENT PENDING, and .22 CAL. LONG RIFLE. The serial number 302963 is clearly struck on the right side of the frame, the right side of the slide, and the front strap of the grip frame. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The pistol is in good condition, showing honest wear consistent with age and use. The original blued finish remains at approximately 60 percent, with the most notable thinning and fading present on the barrel. There are scattered light scratches and handling marks across the steel surfaces, but no significant pitting is observed. The checkered wood grips are intact with some flattening of the diamonds and a notable scratch on the left panel. The internal bore was not inspected, but the external condition suggests a well-maintained tool. The action appears to function correctly, though it has not been live-fire tested. The magazine shows light finish wear but is mechanically sound.
