Gun Collectors Dream Auction #85 Weapons of War July 18th 10AM CST
Lot 451:
Sold for: $150
Description
This lot contains 360 rounds of Soviet military surplus 7.62x25mm Tokarev ammunition. The cartridges are constructed with brass casings and feature round-nose full metal jacket bullets with copper-washed jackets. The ammunition is distributed across five original brown cardboard boxes, with the cartridges packed in a space-saving vertical arrangement. Key markings include the cartridge headstamps which are marked with the number 53 at the 12 o’clock position and 13 at the 6 o’clock position, signifying production at Soviet Factory 13, known as the Ulyanovsk Machinery Plant, in 1953. Each cardboard box bears a circular purple stamp containing the letters KT over the number 133. Additional hand-applied inventory or lot markings are visible on three of the boxes, including 5:08 in purple ink, and 6:197 and 6296 in black ink. The packaging shows minor shelf wear consistent with its age and surplus nature.
Condition report:
The ammunition appears to be in good surplus condition with the brass casings showing light tarnish and a natural aged patina. The copper-jacketed projectiles are well-preserved with no significant corrosion or deformation noted. The cardboard packaging exhibits expected shelf wear, including softened corners, minor edge tears, and surface staining, though it remains structurally sound for storage. The adhesive tape on the lids shows typical age-related drying and some peeling. The ammunition appears live and functional for its intended caliber.
