Lot 512:
48 Rounds of .30-06 Springfield Ammunition on En-Bloc Clips in US Military M2 Ball Bandoleer
Sold for: $90
Description
This lot contains 48 rounds of .30-06 Springfield ammunition loaded onto six steel 8-round en-bloc clips, designed for use with the M1 Garand rifle. The set is housed in an authentic olive drab cotton canvas US military ammunition bandoleer. The bandoleer features six individual pockets, a shoulder strap, and a standard-issue safety pin for length adjustment. The front of the canvas is stenciled in black ink with CAL .30 BALL M2, 8 RD CLIPS, and the manufacturer code LC 42733, indicating production of the carrier at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. While the bandoleer is a mid-20th-century surplus item, the 48 rounds of ammunition feature headstamps marked PPU, identifying them as modern production by Prvi Partizan. One of the clips is fitted with a black rubberized protective sleeve accessory.
Condition report:
The canvas bandoleer is in good surplus condition, showing typical signs of field use including fraying at the seams, light edge wear, and overall soiling consistent with age and storage. The modern ammunition and steel en-bloc clips appear clean and well-maintained.
