Description

This lot consists of 96 rounds of .303 caliber ammunition, organized into three original cardboard boxes with 32 cartridges per box. The ammunition is the Mk 7 pattern, featuring rimmed brass cases loaded with full metal jacket (FMJ) pointed projectiles. The cartridges are contained within individual cardboard dividers inside the boxes. Each box is sealed with a green printed paper strip that identifies the contents as 32 CARTRIDGES .303 INCH Mk 7 and includes the British broad arrow property symbol above the initials I.S.A.A. and the reference code H 3282. Internal visual inspection of the ammunition reveals headstamps marked with a U at the 12 o’clock position, an A at 3 o’clock, 1942 at 6 o’clock, and the Roman numeral VII at 9 o’clock, signifying manufacture in the Union of South Africa during the Second World War. The primers are centerfire and finished with a purple lacquer sealant. The brass cases show a natural aged patina consistent with vintage military surplus.

Condition report:

The cardboard boxes are in good vintage condition, exhibiting light shelf wear, minor soiling, and light fraying at the corners, but they remain structurally sound. The printed paper seals are mostly intact with some minor peeling and adhesive wear. The brass cartridge cases show a dull, natural patina but are free from significant corrosion or verdigris. The primers and projectiles appear well-preserved. The ammunition is live and has not been function-tested.
