Description

This lot contains 68 rounds of 8mm Mauser (7.92x57mm) centerfire rifle ammunition mounted on thirteen stripper clips. The collection includes eleven brass stripper clips and two steel stripper clips. The ammunition features rimless brass casings and spitzer-style projectiles. Most of the rounds are equipped with silver-colored jackets, likely cupronickel or nickel-plated steel, while the eight rounds on the steel clips feature copper-jacketed projectiles. The brass stripper clips display embossed markings on the base, which are consistent with mid-20th century Turkish military surplus, likely from the MKE factory. This ammunition is typical for use in Mauser-pattern bolt-action rifles. No manufacturer headstamps on the cartridges are visible as they are obscured by the clips.

Condition report:

The ammunition is in varied condition, with the brass casings showing a range of age-related patina and surface tarnishing. The projectiles show common surface oxidation and a dulling of the original finish. One cartridge on a steel stripper clip exhibits significant darkening and surface corrosion on the casing. The stripper clips show light wear and minor oxidation but remain functional for holding the rounds. The ammunition appears to be live and unspent; however, we have not function-tested these cartridges and cannot guarantee their reliability or safety for use.
