Gun Collectors Dream Auction #85 Weapons of War July 18th 10AM CST
Lot 55:
Sold for: $80
Description
This lot consists of two cardboard boxes containing a total of 64 rounds of .303 British Mark 7 (Mk 7) ammunition, with each box containing 32 cartridges. The boxes are sealed with green printed tape labels that state CARTRIDGES .303 INCH MK 7 and I.S.A.A. alongside the British military broad arrow symbol. One box features a purple stamp reading RL 321.7 54. The cartridges are brass-cased with copper-jacketed spitzer-style projectiles and primers featuring a purple lacquer sealant. Key markings on the headstamps include RL, 7, Z, and 54, indicating manufacture by Royal Laboratories in 1954, with the Z designation signifying a nitrocellulose propellant. The cartridges are arranged in a four-by-eight grid within the boxes, and the markings H 3282 and 32 are also visible on the packaging tape.
Condition report:
The cardboard packaging displays moderate shelf wear, edge fraying, and light staining consistent with age. The ammunition appears to be in good overall condition with some cartridges exhibiting minor instances of surface oxidation on the brass cases. All rounds appear to be live and intact.
