Description

This Tula Arsenal SKS is a semi-automatic rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm, serving as a well-preserved example of a Soviet military pattern matching number rifle. The 20 inch barrel features a folding blade-style bayonet, a cleaning rod, and a hooded front post sight paired with a tangent rear sight adjustable for elevation. The metal components exhibit a dark blued finish, while the bolt carrier is left in a bright polished state. The rifle is fitted with a wood stock that includes a semi-pistol grip and a metal buttplate with a trapdoor for storage. Highly specific markings include the Tula Arsenal star with an internal arrow stamped on the receiver cover above the production date 1954г. The left side of the receiver bears the stamped importer markings SKS 7.62X39, C.D.I. SWAN. VT, and MADE IN RUSSIA, alongside the added serial number CCCP83181. Original matching Cyrillic serial numbers ит 801 are found on the receiver, bolt carrier, and trigger guard, and the wood stock also displays the ит 801 serial number with previous markings struck out. A shortened matching number 801 is visible on the magazine floorplate and the buttplate. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm for safety or live-fire accuracy. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The rifle is in good overall condition. The blued finish shows some thinning and light wear on the barrel, bayonet lug, and receiver edges, consistent with service handling. The wood stock displays scattered minor dings, shallow scuffs, and small areas of finish loss, but remains structurally sound. The bright-finished bolt carrier is clean and shows minimal oxidation. The bore is bright with well-defined rifling. The action cycles smoothly and the folding bayonet locks securely into both the deployed and stowed positions.
