Description

This decorative sword was manufactured in Toledo, Spain, during the mid-to-late 20th century and is designed in the style of the historical Tizona rapier. The hilt consists of an ornate cast metal swept-guard and a pierced pommel, both featuring cast floral and scrollwork patterns. The grip is finished with a tight wire wrap. The wide, flat steel blade is decorated with intricate etched foliate designs near the ricasso. A rectangular manufacturer mark is stamped on the ricasso, which reads TOLEDO over MADE IN SPAIN. The blade is double-edged and terminates in a pointed tip.

Condition report:

The blade displays significant surface oxidation and heavy rust pitting throughout. There are visible scuffing and crude sharpening marks toward the point. The cast metal hilt and wire-wrapped grip show overall surface wear, darkening, and minor oxidation consistent with age and storage.
