Description

This lot consists of 240 rounds of Austrian military surplus 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition manufactured by Hirtenberger for use with the StG 58 battle rifle. The ammunition is identified as S-Patronen, signifying standard ball cartridges. The rounds are organized into individual cardboard packs, which are housed within a clear plastic protective liner featuring an integrated white carrying strap. This entire sealed bundle is contained within a larger outer cardboard storage box. The ammunition was manufactured in 1976 and remains in its original military packaging. Key markings on the label include the manufacturer code HP, the year 76, and the lot number Los-Nr. 1/. Other verbatim markings on the label include 240, 7,62 mm, S-Patronen, StG 58, 1305-0-050-0020, 6.30 kg, and the Roman numeral II. Each of the smaller internal boxes features a printed line drawing of a 7.62mm cartridge.

Condition report:

The ammunition is in overall very good condition and remains factory-sealed within the inner plastic liner. The outer cardboard box shows typical signs of long-term storage, including minor crushing to the corners and light surface staining, but remains structurally sound. The carrying strap is intact. While the cartridges are not individually visible due to the packaging, there is no evidence of moisture intrusion or corrosion on the external components. The ammunition appears to be live and in its original issued state. We have not function-tested this ammunition.
