Lot 614:
A Packed Box Full of Vintage USGI M1 Garand 8-Round En Bloc Clips
Sold for: $375
Description
A large collection of vintage M1 Garand 8-round en bloc clips, manufactured from stamped spring steel. These clips are the standard ammunition feeding device for the .30-06 caliber M1 Garand service rifle. Each unit features the characteristic rectangular form with concave side cutouts and structural reinforcement ridges stamped into the metal. Various manufacturer stamps are visible on the base of the clips, including a capital S enclosed in a circle and other alphanumeric markings such as A and O. The clips are housed in a modern cardboard shipping container and appear to be surplus stock.
Condition report:
The lot is in as-found vintage condition. Most clips exhibit significant surface rust and heavy oxidation throughout, likely due to long-term storage in a damp environment. The items appear unused but show considerable age-related wear to the finish.
