Lot 634:
A Lot of 70 Rounds of Winchester Super-X Ammunition .30-06 Springfield
Sold for: $55
Description
This lot consists of 70 rounds of .30-06 ammunition distributed across four boxes. The collection includes two brown cardboard boxes marked for Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, Caliber .30, Ball M2, and Lot LC 42201, along with two commercial boxes from Winchester Super-X and Winchester-Western. Despite the military labeling on the cardboard containers, the cartridges are commercial centerfire rifle rounds featuring brass casings with headstamps verbatim marked W-W Super 30-06 Sprg. These rounds are fitted with copper-jacketed soft-point bullets rather than the ball ammunition indicated on the military-style boxes. The cartridges are held within internal cardboard and red plastic organizing trays.
Condition report:
The packaging shows moderate shelf wear consistent with age, including edge scuffing, minor crushing at the corners, and surface discoloration. The cartridges appear to be in good, live condition, with light surface tarnish on the brass casings but no signs of significant corrosion. The lead soft-point tips show only minor deformation from storage.
