Lot 651:

Description
This Finnish M39 Mosin-Nagant bolt action rifle is chambered in 7.62x54R and built on a rugged hexagonal receiver. The rifle features a 27-inch barrel equipped with a hooded post front sight and a tangent rear sight graduated in meters, characteristic of the model’s reputation for accuracy. The metal components exhibit a blued finish, and the rifle is mounted in a typical Finnish two-piece wood stock featuring a finger-jointed forend, semi-pistol grip, and a steel buttplate. A cleaning rod is present beneath the barrel, and the lot includes a black leather sling. Key markings include the barrel shank stamped with a boxed SA Finnish Army property mark, the Sako S in gear logo, the serial number 239024, and the date 1943. The barrel is also stamped M39 FINLAND 7.62 X 54R alongside a C.A.I. GEORGIA VT import mark. The receiver reflects the matching serial number 239024 on its left side. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces retain a strong amount of the blued finish with expected thinning on the bolt handle and high edges of the receiver and barrel. The wood stock is in good overall condition, showing typical military service wear including scattered dings, small compression marks, and light scratches, but remains structurally sound. The action appears to function correctly, although the rifle has not been function-tested or test-fired. The bore was not inspected. The leather sling is intact and supple with light wear to the metal buckles.
