Lot 681:
Sold for: $1,250
Description
This semi-automatic rifle is a Santa Fe M-59 Trooper chambered in 7.62mm NATO, produced by the Golden State Arms Corp. utilizing a repurposed Springfield Armory M1 Garand receiver. Configured as a carbine-length variant of the Italian Beretta BM 59, the firearm features a 17.5 inch barrel and a modified gas system. The metal components exhibit a functional Parkerized finish throughout. The rifle is mounted in a carbine-style wood stock characterized by a short forend and a traditional semi-pistol grip, terminating in a steel buttplate with a hinged trapdoor for cleaning kit storage. It utilizes standard M1 Garand-pattern iron sights, including a guarded blade front and an adjustable aperture rear. The rifle is fed by a detachable box magazine, one of which is included. Key markings on the right side of the receiver include SANTA FE M-59 TROOPER CAL. 7.62MM NATO and GOLDEN STATE ARMS CORP. PASADENA, CALIF. The receiver bridge is stamped with the Springfield Armory serial number 1276914. Additional markings include S-A-4-50 on the barrel and PB BM 59 on the gas cylinder, indicating the integration of Beretta-manufactured parts. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The Parkerized finish remains largely intact with some thinning and silvering on the edges, bolt, and operating rod consistent with mechanical operation and handling. The wood stock is in good structural condition but shows a significant number of handling marks, dings, and scratches from previous use. The bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling. The action appears to function correctly when cycled manually, though the rifle has not been test-fired. The included magazine shows moderate finish wear and some light surface oxidation.
