Description
This Yugoslavian Model 24/47 is a bolt-action military surplus rifle chambered in 8mm Mauser and built on a shortened Mauser 98-style action. The rifle features a blued metal finish on the receiver and barrel, with a polished bolt assembly and a cleaning rod mounted under the barrel. The iron sights consist of a hooded front post and a tangent rear sight graduated from 200 to 2,000 meters. The furniture is a dark oil-finished hardwood stock with a flat steel buttplate and sling swivels. Key markings include the Yugoslavian Socialist Federal Republic five-torch crest on the receiver ring, with the model designation M.24/47 and the refurbishment facility mark T.R.Z. 5 on the left side of the receiver receiver. The serial number K 2926 is stamped on the right side of the receiver, and matching numbers 2926 are stamped on the bolt handle and the right side of the buttstock. A secondary import serial number M24007822 is laser-etched on the left side of the receiver, and the barrel bears the import mark M24/47 YUGO 8MM C.A.I. GEORGIA VT. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle is in very good surplus condition. The blued finish shows light wear and thinning on the barrel bands and trigger guard, consistent with age and service. The wood stock is solid and attractive, showing typical handling marks, dings, and scratches, with a small chip missing from the upper handguard as noted on the included collector\'s tag. The bore is bright with strong, crisp rifling. The bolt action appears to function smoothly, though the firearm has not been function-tested or test-fired.
