Description
A collection of several pairs of vintage equestrian spurs of varying styles and construction. One pair is composed of polished silver-tone metal featuring rounded ball shanks and weathered leather straps, with a partial mark on the interior heel band appearing to read ARTH. Another pair is made of steel with an embossed herringbone or braided pattern on the branches, fitted with small rowels and leather straps secured by circular buckles. Also included is a pair of darkened, oxidized steel spurs featuring large ten-pointed star rowels, under-heel curb chains, and decorative stamping on the leather heel pieces. The assortment showcases a range of traditional Western metalwork and leathercraft techniques.
Condition report:
Items exhibit significant age-related wear. Metal components show varying levels of surface oxidation, pitting, tarnish, and scratches. Leather components are heavily weathered with notable cracking, stiffness, darkening, and loss of flexibility. Several straps show advanced deterioration.
