Description
This Colt Government Model 01980XSE is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45 ACP, configured as a centenary commemorative edition for the 1911 platform. It features a 5-inch barrel and a matte blued finish on the slide and frame. The slide is equipped with front and rear cocking serrations and Novak-style three-dot sights. The pistol is fitted with a skeletonized hammer and trigger, and the furniture consists of black rubber wrap-around textured grips with integrated finger grooves. The top of the barrel, visible through the ejection port, is marked -COLT 45 AUTO-. Prominent markings include the left side of the slide stamped GOVERNMENT MODEL COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBER 45, and the right side engraved with 100 YEARS OF SERVICE. The right side of the frame is marked COLTS PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A. above the serial number FR29299E. This firearm is accompanied by one single-stack magazine, a Series 80 safety and instruction manual, and a blue plastic Colt-branded hard case with an identification label matching the model and serial number. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The pistol is in very good overall condition, showing approximately 98 percent of its original matte blued finish with only minor surface wear on the high edges and slight thinning near the muzzle. The bore is bright with crisp rifling. The action appears to function correctly when cycled by hand, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The black rubber grips are excellent, retaining sharp texturing. The accompanying magazine and factory hard case show only light handling marks.
