Description
A lot of 192 rounds of vintage Winchester rimfire ammunition contained within five original cardboard boxes. This collection consists of two boxes of Super Speed 22 Long Rifle Shot, one box of Super Speed 22 W.R.F. Kopperklad, and two boxes of Leader 22 Long Rifle. The ammunition includes various configurations, including standard lead round nose projectiles, copper-plated bullets with nickel-plated cases, and crimped brass shot shells designed for smooth bore barrels. Verbatim packaging markings include Winchester, Super Speed, Leader, Staynless, 50 Long Range Rim Fire Cartridges, and Made in U.S.A. The boxes are specifically identified by product codes SS 22 LRS, K 2388 R, K 2220 R, and LD 22 LR. All cartridges bear a stamped letter H headstamp on the base. The reverse of the boxes contains detailed caution statements and technical specifications regarding the increased velocity and pressure of the Super Speed loads and the non-corrosive properties of the Leader series.
Condition report:
The original cardboard boxes are in good vintage condition, exhibiting typical shelf wear, edge fraying, scuffing, and minor tearing consistent with their age. The ammunition appears live and generally well-preserved; however, significant lead bloom and white oxidation are visible on the exposed lead projectiles. The brass and nickel-plated cartridge cases show a light aged patina and minor surface tarnish.
