Description
A collection of Federal brand Hi-Power .22 Short rimfire ammunition totaling 120 rounds contained within three vintage-style boxes. This group features a variety of loads including lead lubricated hollow point and copper-plated solid point projectiles. One box contains lead lubricated hollow point cartridges featuring brass cases with stylized HP monogram headstamps. The remaining two boxes are identified as Federal No. 701 and contain copper-plated cartridges with brass cases marked with a single F headstamp. Key markings across the packaging include HI-POWER CARTRIDGES, FEDERAL NO. 701, .22 SHORT, HOLLOW POINT, LEAD LUBRICATED, and XCESS SPEED. Two of the boxes retain original white cotton packing material used for securing the partial contents. These rounds represent mid-20th century sporting ammunition produced by the Federal Cartridge Corporation for small game and target applications.
Condition report:
The vintage cardboard packaging exhibits moderate shelf wear including edge scuffing, minor surface abrasions, and corner bumping consistent with long-term storage. The brass cartridge cases show a natural patina and darkening from age. The lead and copper-plated bullet surfaces exhibit visible oxidation and tarnishing. All cartridges appear to be original factory loads. This ammunition is sold as a collector\'s lot; we have not function-tested these cartridges and cannot guarantee their reliability or safety for use in firearms.
