Description
This lot consists of 40 rounds of Winchester John Wayne commemorative .32-40 Winchester caliber centerfire rifle ammunition, contained within two original 20-round boxes. Each cartridge is constructed with a nickel-plated casing and a 165-grain soft point jacketed bullet. Verbatim markings found on the headstamps include W DUKE 32-40 WIN, referencing the manufacturer and the commemorative branding. The cardboard packaging is designated with model number W3240JW and features a multi-color portrait of John Wayne set against an American flag background, accompanied by a facsimile signature on the side panels. This ammunition was originally produced to accompany the Winchester Model 94 John Wayne commemorative series rifles.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in very good, clean condition, with the nickel-plated cases showing a bright finish and no visible signs of oxidation or corrosion to the primers or bullets. The factory-loaded cartridges appear to be in live, functional condition. The original cardboard boxes exhibit moderate shelf wear, including surface scuffs, minor edge fraying, and some corner wear consistent with age and storage, though both remain structurally complete with their internal trays.
