Description
This lot consists of 100 rounds of .25 Stevens Long rimfire ammunition, contained within two original 50-count boxes. Manufactured by Canadian Industries Limited (C-I-L) under the Canuck brand, these cartridges feature brass cases with a D headstamp and are loaded with 65-grain lubricated lead round-nose bullets. The yellow and dark blue cardboard boxes are prominently labeled CANUCK 25 STEVENS LONG and include a red oval C-I-L logo. Front panels include a warning to KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN and identify the contents as RIM FIRE CARTRIDGES. Side panels specify the 65 GRAIN BULLET weight. The packaging lists compatibility with various MARLIN, STEVENS, COOEY, REMINGTON, AND WINCHESTER SINGLE SHOT RIFLES; ALSO STEVENS AND MARLIN REPEATING RIFLES. Text on the boxes states the rounds are PRIMED WITH NON-CORROSIVE, NON-FOULING PRIMING and LOADED WITH INSIDE LUBRICATED BULLET. Both boxes feature handwritten 7.60 notations in red crayon on the front panels.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in original condition with characteristics consistent with age. The brass cases show a natural aged patina with scattered spots of tarnish and minor surface oxidation. The 65-grain lead bullets exhibit typical dull gray surface oxidation and some traces of original lubricant. The cardboard boxes show moderate shelf wear, including edge scuffs, corner abrasions, and small tears to the flaps. Colors and graphics remain mostly vibrant and legible, despite some light staining and surface dust. One box is open to show the contents, while the other remains closed.
