Description
This lot features a Remington High Velocity .22 Long Rifle rimfire ammunition tin containing 400 rounds. As the second entry in the limited edition Remington Artwork series, the dark green lithographed tin is decorated with ornate gold-toned scrollwork framing classic wildlife scenes from the Remington collection. The lid artwork, titled The Right of Way, depicts a hunter with a rifle encountering a grizzly bear on a narrow rocky trail. The side panels feature a bull elk with cows and a white-tailed buck with does in their natural woodland habitats. Visible markings on the tin include Remington High Velocity, Rimfire 22 Long Rifle, and 400 Rounds. The reverse of the container identifies the Remington Arms Company and describes the significance of the wildlife art collection series. The tin remains sealed in its original clear factory plastic shrink-wrap, which bears a vintage retail price sticker of $9.82 and a visible UPC barcode 047700012209. Condition report:
The tin is in excellent condition, factory sealed within its original clear plastic wrap. The plastic shows minor scuffs and small tears along the edges consistent with vintage retail storage, but the underlying metal finish and lithography remain bright, vibrant, and free of visible oxidation or dents. The ammunition is presumed to be live and in original condition, though the contents have not been inspected or function-tested due to the intact factory seal.
