Description
This lot features two 50-round boxes of .22 Remington Jet centerfire ammunition, totaling 100 rounds. The cartridges are loaded with 40 grain soft point bullets, which consist of a copper jacket and an exposed lead tip. These rounds are packaged in their original red cardboard boxes with orange labels. Markings on the labels specify Made in USA by CMA, 22 Rem Jet, 40 gr. Soft Point, and CMA22JET – 50 New Cartridges. A visual inspection of the headstamps reveals the markings R-P at the top and 22 REM JET MAG around the bottom, indicating the brass was manufactured by Remington-Peters. This centerfire caliber was originally designed for the Smith and Wesson Model 53 revolver and is noted for its high-velocity performance. The cartridges appear to be factory loads and are intended for use in appropriate firearms chambered for this specific caliber.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in overall good condition with some minor surface tarnishing and light oxidation present on the brass cases. The bullets are clean and show no signs of significant corrosion. The cardboard boxes exhibit heavy wear consistent with age and storage, including significant fraying at the edges, crushing at the corners, and surface tearing. One box has a partially missing label and clear adhesive tape applied for reinforcement. The cartridges appear to be live.
