Description
A vintage break-barrel spring-piston air rifle manufactured by Bayerische Sportwaffenfabrik (BSF) in West Germany, identified as the Model 35 and marketed under the Bavaria brand. The rifle is constructed with a hardwood stock featuring a semi-gloss finish and a finger-groove forearm. The barrel and receiver are made of blued steel. It is equipped with an adjustable rear notch sight and a fixed front post sight, and the top of the receiver is grooved for optics mounting. The top of the chamber features an engraved figure of a woman on a pedestal with the characters BAVARIA on a banner at the base. The left side of the breech block is stamped BAVARIA over the model number 35. The right side of the receiver is stamped MADE IN GERMANY WEST. The buttstock is fitted with a black composite butt plate and currently has a strip of masking tape on the left side with handwritten ink markings indicating an inventory number and the 4.5mm (.177) caliber.
Condition report:
This item is in used, original condition. The hardwood stock exhibits various surface scratches, minor dings, and finish wear, most notably on the forearm and at the toe of the butt. There is old masking tape and adhesive residue present on the left side of the buttstock. The blued finish on the metal components shows moderate thinning and light surface wear consistent with age and use. The mechanical break-barrel action appears operational, although the rifle has not been test-fired for velocity or accuracy. The front sight hood is missing.
