Description
This lot comprises 298 rounds of Remington Hi-Speed Kleanbore .22 Long Rifle rimfire ammunition, distributed among six vintage cardboard boxes. The collection includes five boxes of standard lead round-nose cartridges and one box specifically labeled for hollow-point projectiles. The cartridges utilize brass casings with a stamped headstamp featuring the letter U, identifying production by the Remington Arms Company and Union Metallic Cartridge Company. The bullet projectiles are composed of lead. The cardboard packaging features the classic red, green, and white Remington branding along with the DuPont logo. Prominent markings transcribed from the packaging include Remington HI-SPEED 22 LONG RIFLE KLEANBORE and 50 RIM FIRE CARTRIDGES alongside the warning KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. One box is marked specifically for HOLLOW POINT on the end flap. These vintage cartridges were produced for sporting use and feature the Kleanbore priming designed to reduce barrel corrosion. One box features blue ink handwriting on the front face.
Condition report:
The ammunition boxes are in fair to good condition, exhibiting visible shelf wear, rounded corners, and minor edge fraying or small tears consistent with their age. The ammunition itself shows varying degrees of lead oxidation and blooming on the bullet surfaces, with the brass casings showing a natural darkened tarnish. The cartridges appear to be original and intact, though they are sold as vintage collectibles and have not been function tested. One box has handwritten names in ink on the front cover.
