Description
This lot consists of a full box of 50 centerfire cartridges in 9mm Steyr caliber, manufactured by Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) for the Spanish-speaking export market. The cartridges are configured with brass cases and round-nose projectiles featuring silver-colored jackets, consistent with early 20th-century non-corrosive Sinoxid type ammunition. Extensive markings on the primary label include 50 Cartuchos No 577 para pistola automatica STEYR cal. 9 mm, identifying the caliber and manufacturer as Deutsche Waffen- u. Munitionsfabriken AG., Werk Karlsruhe i. B. with a Made in Germany mark. The box side is labeled Inoxidable anticorrosivo. Verification of the individual headstamps shows the letters DWM at the top, a K at the bottom-left, and the numbers 577 at the bottom-right. These rounds were specifically produced for use in the Steyr M1912 and similar automatic pistols chambered in 9x23mm Steyr.
Condition report:
The cardboard box is in fair to good vintage condition, exhibiting significant wear, tears at the corners and flaps, fraying edges, and minor surface staining. The cartridges show some surface tarnish and minor oxidation on both the brass cases and the silver-colored bullet jackets. The ammunition appears to be original and live, though it has not been function-tested.
