Description
This lot comprises a collection of 217 rounds of vintage .22 caliber rimfire ammunition manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. of New Haven, Connecticut. The grouping is contained within five original cardboard boxes and includes two boxes of Super Speed .22 Long Rifle with Kopperklad copper-plated bullets (code K 2208 R), one box of Super Speed .22 Long Rifle H.P. with Kopperklad bullets (code K 2207 R), one box of Super Speed .22 Long with Kopperklad bullets (code K 2216 R), and one box of .22 Long Rifle with Lead Greased bullets (code K 2288 R). The box graphics feature the trademarked Winchester red, blue, and yellow design with text reading WINCHESTER, SUPER SPEED, and STAYNLESS. Side panels provide specific identification codes and labels such as KOPPERKLAD and LEAD GREASED. Verbatim markings on the reverse sides include caution labels stating these cartridges are loaded to increased velocity and pressure and should only be used in arms in good condition designed for such loads.
