Description
This lot consists of a collection of 190 rounds of rimfire ammunition manufactured by Winchester. The group includes one box of Winchester-Western 22 CB Short low-velocity, reduced-charge cartridges and two boxes of Winchester Super-X Subsonic 22 Long Rifle cartridges. The 22 CB Short box is marked with the catalog number WW22CBS and specifies 100 rim fire cartridges. The 22 Long Rifle boxes are marked with catalog number W22SUB and specify 50 cartridges per box. Verbatim markings on the packaging include Winchester-Western, 22 CB SHORT, Super-X Subsonic, 22 Long Rifle, Percussion Annulaire – Rimfire, and 50 Cartouches – Cartridges. One of the subsonic boxes features a green Tennessee State Department of Agriculture Nashville 10c ammunition tax stamp. The cartridges are housed in black plastic trays and feature lead round-nose projectiles seated in brass cases with a W headstamp.
Condition report:
The cardboard packaging exhibits minor surface wear, edge scuffing, and light staining consistent with age. One box shows a blue ink smudge on the end flap. The brass cases show natural surface oxidation and tarnishing, while the lead bullets exhibit light surface oxidation. The ammunition appears live and intact; however, we have not function-tested these cartridges for reliability.
