Description
This lot consists of a factory box containing 20 rounds of .25-35 Winchester centerfire high-pressure proof ammunition produced by Black Hills Ammunition, Inc. These specialized cartridges are manufactured for gun manufacturers’ proof test use only and are designed to exert significantly higher internal pressures than standard commercial loads to verify the structural integrity of firearm actions. Each cartridge is fitted with a 117-grain soft-point bullet and utilizes brass cases with headstamps marked W-W SUPER 25-35 WIN. For immediate visual identification and safety, red lacquer is applied to both the bullet tips and the case heads. The ammunition is held within a white styrofoam tray inside a white cardboard box featuring extensive safety instructions and warnings. Prominent markings on the box include DANGER Centerfire High Pressure Proof Loads and the restrictive notice For Gun Manufacturers’ Proof Test Use Only. The lower portion of the front panel specifies PRODUCED IN THE USA BY BLACK HILLS AMMUNITION, INC. and the end label confirms the caliber and weight as 25-35 117 GR. SOFT POINT.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in excellent, well-preserved condition and appears to be live. The brass cases are clean with no signs of corrosion or significant oxidation, and the red lacquer identification marks remain bright and largely intact. The original cardboard packaging shows light shelf wear consistent with age, including minor fraying at the corners and small creases on the top flap, but remains structurally sound. The internal styrofoam tray is present and undamaged.
