Description
This lot consists of a collection of 350 rounds of vintage Federal brand Hi-Power .22 Long Rifle rimfire ammunition. The collection is comprised of seven individual cardboard boxes, each with a 50-round capacity. The group includes six boxes of standard lead lubricated rounds designated as catalog No. 710 and one box of hollow point lead lubricated rounds designated as catalog No. 712. The packaging features the classic blue, white, and red design with prominent markings that include Hi-Power, 50 Rim Fire, Cartridges, Xcess Speed, Lead Lubricated, and Non-Corrosive. Verbatim box markings identify the manufacturer as Federal Cartridge Corp. Minneapolis, Minn. while the individual cartridges primarily bear the HP headstamp. However, visual inspection reveals that one box contains a varied assortment of rounds with headstamps including HP, H for Winchester, F for Federal, and SUPER in a diamond logo for Western Super-X. The projectiles include standard lead lubricated round-nose, lead hollow-point, and copper-plated hollow-point bullets.
Condition report:
The cardboard packaging shows typical signs of age and storage, including fraying at the edges, minor surface staining, and some compression to the box corners. The ammunition itself displays varying degrees of lead oxidation on the projectiles and tarnish on the brass cases. As these are vintage cartridges, they are sold for collectible purposes and we have not function-tested this ammunition for reliability or safety.
