Description
This Smith & Wesson Model 422 is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in .22 Long Rifle, featuring a 6-inch barrel designed with a low bore axis to minimize muzzle rise. The pistol is constructed with a matte black finish on the frame and slide, fitted with black checkered polymer grips that incorporate the manufacturer’s medallion logo. The sighting system consists of a fixed front blade and a rear notch sight. Key markings include the model designation “MODEL 422” positioned above the serial number “TZE2684” on the right side of the frame. The left side of the frame is stamped “SMITH & WESSON” over “SPRINGFIELD, MA U.S.A.”, and the barrel is marked “22 LONG RIFLE CTG” between decorative symbols. The pistol is accompanied by one detachable magazine featuring a black body, an orange follower, and a thumb stud for loading, with the base marked “22 CAL” and the manufacturer’s logo. Condition report:
The matte black finish remains largely intact but displays visible wear and thinning at the muzzle and along the sharp edges of the slide and frame. The polymer grips are in good condition with well-defined checkering and minimal handling marks. The action appears to function correctly when cycled manually, though the firearm has not been live-fire tested. The bore was not internally inspected, but the external condition suggests a well-maintained piece.
