Description

This lot features 100 rounds of collectible .32 caliber ammunition housed in two original cardboard boxes from prominent American manufacturers. The first is a two-piece box from the Remington Arms-Union Metallic Cartridge Co. of Bridgeport, Connecticut, containing cartridges for the .32 Colt Police Positive. These cartridges utilize 100-grain lead bullets and smokeless powder, with headstamps reading REM-UMC .32 COLT NP. The second is a one-piece box from The United States Cartridge Co. of Lowell, Massachusetts, containing cartridges for the .32 S&W and featuring black powder loads. Prominent box markings include REMINGTON ARMS-UNION METALLIC CARTRIDGE CO., BRIDGEPORT, CONN. U.S.A. and THE UNITED STATES CARTRIDGE CO., LOWELL, MASS., U.S.A. The United States Cartridge Co. box further specifies that the rounds are adapted to S.&W. Automatic Ejecting Revolvers and recommends them for the .32 Caliber Smith & Wesson Revolver. The Remington-UMC box includes 51 visible cartridges, while the remaining rounds are contained in the closed secondary box to reach the total quantity of 100. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.

Condition report:

Both boxes exhibit significant age-related wear, including surface scuffing, rounded corners, edge fraying, and minor label loss. The Remington-UMC box is open, revealing 50 cartridges in a factory head-to-tip arrangement with one additional loose cartridge on top. The United States Cartridge Co. box remains closed with some clear tape visible on the exterior. The brass cases show varying degrees of tarnish and patina consistent with long-term storage. The lead bullets appear intact with minor surface oxidation. We have not function-tested this ammunition and it is sold strictly for collector purposes.
