Description
This lot consists of a total of 128 vintage centerfire cartridges produced by the Remington Arms Company, Inc., housed in their original green-and-red Kleanbore cardboard boxes. Included are 50 rounds of .38 Special featuring 158-grain steel jacket bullets with headstamps reading REM-UMC 38 SPL. A second box contains 50 rounds of .38 Smith & Wesson with 146-grain lead round-nose bullets, featuring headstamps marked REM-UMC .38 S&W. The third, partial box contains 28 rounds of .38 S. & W. Special Sharp Shoulder with 146-grain lead wadcutter bullets, headstamped REM-UMC .38 S&W SPL. Prominent packaging markings include the Remington Arms Company, Inc. name, the Du Pont logo, and factory locations in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Ilion, New York. The cartridges utilize non-corrosive and non-erosive Kleanbore primers as specified on the period packaging.
Condition report:
The ammunition displays age-appropriate condition, with the brass cases exhibiting a natural tarnishing and patina. The lead bullets show characteristic white oxidation on their surfaces, while the steel jackets remain largely intact. The cardboard boxes show moderate shelf wear, including corner fraying, surface rubbing, and minor edge tearing, though the printed text and green-and-red color schemes remain legible. The internal dividers are present in the partial box.
