Description
This collection consists of 140 rounds of rimfire ammunition manufactured by Canadian Industries Limited (CIL) and its Dominion Ammunition Division in Montreal, Canada. The lot includes three individual boxes of Whiz-BANG brand cartridges featuring dry lubricated lead mushroom-tip bullets designed for small game hunting and target practice. One yellow box is marked Manufactured by Canadian Industries (1954) Limited and displays the oval C-I-L logo, while the two red and yellow boxes are labeled Dominion Ammunition Division. Verbatim markings on the packaging include Whiz-BANG, SUPER-CLEAN, MUSHROOM, DRY LUBRICATED BULLETS, and SMOKELESS. The lot contains two boxes of .22 Long Rifle ammunition and one box of .22 Short cartridges. The individual cartridges feature brass cases with a D headstamp and lead hollow-point bullets. The packaging is constructed of light cardboard and the ammunition was intended for use in standard rimfire rifles and handguns.
Condition report:
The cardboard packaging exhibits significant age-related wear, including surface staining, creasing, corner fraying, and some clear adhesive tape repairs on the flaps and corners. The ammunition itself shows minor oxidation and surface patina on the lead bullets and brass cases consistent with long-term storage. While the cartridges appear to be intact and live, they are sold as collectibles and their firing reliability is not guaranteed.
