Gun Collectors Dream Auction #86 Collector Auction
Lot 1267:
Description
This lot consists of 200 rounds of reman .218 Bee centerfire rifle ammunition, neatly organized into four red plastic 50-round storage trays. Each cartridge features a brass case and a copper-jacketed soft-point projectile with a flat lead tip, a configuration commonly used for varmint hunting and sporting applications. The brass cases display various Winchester-Western headstamps, with prominent markings transcribed verbatim as .218 BEE, SUPER-X, W-W SUPER, and SUPER SPEED. The cartridges are fitted with silver-colored primers, and several examples in the collection exhibit a visible red primer sealant. This substantial quantity of remanufactured ammunition provides a significant supply for compatible rifles chambered in the specialized .218 Bee caliber.
Condition report:
The ammunition appears to be in good overall condition. The brass cases show minor surface tarnish and light oxidation consistent with age, but no significant corrosion, pitting, or structural deformation is visible. The copper-jacketed projectiles are clean and the flat lead tips are well-formed. Primers appear properly seated, and the ammunition is believed to be live. The four red plastic storage trays are in good, functional condition without cracks or significant wear.
