Description
This lot consists of a vintage 50-round box of .22 Long Rifle rimfire ammunition manufactured by Nitron in Poland and exported by Universal. The cartridges are constructed with brass casings and lead round-nose bullets. Prominent markings on the packaging include the model designation LONG RIFLE CAL. .22 RIM FIRE CARTRIDGES EXTRA on the top panel, and LONG RIFLE 50 CARTRIDGES on the side. The end flaps are marked with the NITRON brand name and a stylized torch-like logo, alongside the country of origin MADE IN POLAND and the exporter EXPORTED BY UNIVERSAL. Each cartridge features a stylized C headstamp on the base. The rounds are organized within an internal cardboard grid; forty-nine rounds are seated vertically within the divider, with the fiftieth round resting horizontally across the top of the tray. This ammunition was intended for recreational shooting and small game hunting.
Condition report:
The original cardboard box is in good condition, showing moderate edge wear, corner rubbing, and minor surface scuffs consistent with its age and storage. The red, black, and cream graphics remain bright and legible with no significant fading. The internal cardboard grid is intact. The cartridges themselves appear well-preserved, with no visible corrosion or oxidation on the brass cases or the lead bullets. The ammunition appears to be live.
