Description
This lot features a total of 392 rounds of vintage Remington rimfire ammunition across eight original cardboard boxes. The collection includes three boxes of .22 Short High Velocity (product code 1022), two boxes of .22 Long Rifle Thunderbolt (product codes TB-22A and TB22A), one box of .22 Long Rifle High Velocity (product code 1522), one box of Pistol Match .22 Long Rifle, and one box of CBee 22 Low Velocity .22 Long (product code CB-22L). The cartridges utilize brass casings with lead round nose or copper-coated projectiles. Verbatim markings on the packaging include Remington, 22 High Velocity, 50 Rimfire Cartridges, New Improved 22 Thunderbolt, and Pistol Match 22 Long Rifle. Individual cartridge headstamps are identified as either a script Rem or a block U character, the latter indicative of the Union Metallic Cartridge Company.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes show moderate shelf wear, including dings to the corners, fraying at the edges, and light surface staining consistent with long-term storage. The ammunition exhibits varying degrees of age-related tarnish on the brass cases. Several cartridges show evidence of heavy lead oxidation, presenting as a white powdery corrosion on the bullet surfaces. The ammunition appears to be in live condition, though it has not been function-tested.
