Description
This AMT Backup is a compact, double-action-only semi-automatic pistol chambered in .380 ACP, designed primarily for deep concealment and pocket carry. The firearm features a 2.5-inch barrel housed within a matte-finished stainless steel slide and frame. The grip panels are constructed from black checkered polymer for a secure hold. The sighting system consists of a simple fixed groove integrated into the top of the slide. Key markings on the left side of the slide include the AMT circular logo followed by CAL. 380 9MM KURZ, -BACK UP-, and IRWINDALE, CALIF. The serial number DA3972 is stamped on the left side of the frame above the trigger guard. The right side of the slide is marked STAINLESS-MADE IN U.S.A. along with a safety warning stating WARNING READ INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL BEFORE HANDLING THIS FIREARM. This lot includes its original factory cardboard box with a hand-marked matching serial number, one magazine with an orange follower, the factory instruction manual, and additional service paperwork dated 1993. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The firearm is in good physical condition, retaining most of its factory matte stainless steel finish. Visible spots of surface oxidation and light freckling are present on the right side of the slide and at the rear of the slide and frame. The bore was not inspected, but the breech face and external barrel surfaces show light signs of use. The action appears to function correctly, though it has not been live-fire tested. The polymer grips are sharp and well-preserved with no cracks. The factory box shows significant wear including creasing, edge damage, and reinforcement with clear adhesive tape.
