Description
This lot consists of twenty rounds of vintage 12-gauge shotgun ammunition organized into two original ten-count cardboard boxes. The ammunition features reddish-brown paper hulls and brass heads, loaded with number 8 chilled shot. Technical specifications printed on the top wads of the shells indicate a 3-dram equivalent powder charge with 1 1/8 ounces of shot, designated by the markings 3-1 1/8 – 8. The brown cardboard boxes are printed in black ink with the text 10 SHELLS, SHOTGUN, PAPER, 12 GAGE, No. 8 CHILLED SHOT, LOT RA and include the manufacturer name REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY, INC. Stamped lot numbers on the boxes include 5816 and 347 8L. Each shell is headstamped PETERS 12 VICTOR MADE IN U.S.A. reflecting the historical association between the two companies.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in good vintage condition. The paper hulls are clean and firm without signs of moisture damage or swelling. The brass heads show varying degrees of surface oxidation and tarnish associated with age. The cardboard boxes exhibit minor edge wear, light corner scuffing, and minor surface staining but remain structurally sound. The ammunition appears to be live but has not been tested for performance and is sold as a collectable item.
