Description
This lot features 165 rounds of Remington Kleanbore .22 Short rimfire ammunition housed in four original cardboard boxes. The group includes one box of Standard Velocity Kleankote marked with code R10 K, one box of Standard Velocity, and two boxes of Hi-Speed smokeless cartridges marked with code R11. Branding on the packaging identifies the manufacturer as Remington Arms Company, Inc. of Bridgeport, Connecticut, and prominently features the DuPont logo. Key markings on the boxes include Remington Kleanbore, .22 Short, Standard Velocity, and Hi-Speed. Interior inspection reveals a mix of ammunition with headstamps featuring the letter U and Super X within a diamond. Information on the reverse of the boxes states that Kleanbore priming is positively non-corrosive and will prevent rust and corrosion in both new and old barrels if used exclusively. Manufacturing locations provided on the packaging include Bridgeport, Connecticut, Ilion, New York, and Kings Mills, Ohio.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes show significant age-related wear, including frayed edges, tears, surface loss, and old tape reinforcements. The ammunition cases exhibit varying degrees of patina and oxidation, while the lead projectiles show signs of surface corrosion and white oxidation consistent with long-term storage. The ammunition appears to be in its original live condition; however, we have not function-tested these rounds and they are sold as collectible items.
