Description
This lot consists of a collection of seven boxes of .222 Remington centerfire ammunition from Winchester, Western, and Savage, containing 47 live rounds and 60 empty brass casings. The group includes four Winchester Super Speed boxes, two Western Super-X Lubaloy 50-grain soft point boxes, and one Savage 50-grain soft point box featuring the Native American head logo. Cartridge headstamps are mixed throughout the boxes, with transcribed markings including SUPER SPEED 222 REM, REM-UMC 222 REM, R-P 222 REM, and W-W SUPER 222 REM. The ammunition features both jacketed and lead soft point bullet designs. The cardboard boxes are originally marked for 20 centerfire cartridges each and exhibit various handwritten notations and price markings. The brass casings show a natural tarnish and the lead bullet tips show some oxidation consistent with age.
Condition report:
The cardboard packaging exhibits moderate shelf wear including corner rounding, edge scuffing, and handwritten notations. The brass cartridge cases show varying degrees of tarnish and patination. Surface oxidation is present on several of the lead bullet tips. The live rounds appear intact, and the empty brass casings are spent components with various headstamps.
