Description
This collection features three vintage ammunition boxes containing a combined total of 103 rounds and 22 empty brass casings in .38 Special and .38 S.&W. calibers. The group consists of a green Remington Arms Company Kleanbore .38 S.&W. Special box, a yellow and blue Peters Police Match .38 Special box, and a blue and yellow Peters Rustless .38 S.&W. box. Technical specifications listed on the packaging include 158 grain lead bullets for the Remington box and 146 grain projectiles for the Peters boxes. Prominent headstamps transcribed from the cartridges and casings include REM-UMC 38 SPL, WESTERN 38 SPECIAL, PETERS 38 SPL, PETERS 38 S.&W., and 38 S.&W. The collection presents a mix of nickel-plated and brass cases with lead round nose and wadcutter bullets. These items are sold as collectibles for display purposes only.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes show typical signs of shelf wear, including corner scuffs, edge fraying, and minor surface staining. The cartridges and empty casings exhibit varying degrees of tarnishing and patina on the brass and nickel surfaces consistent with age. White oxidation is visible on the surfaces of the lead bullets. The ammunition remains in vintage condition, and the integrity of the primers or powder has not been tested.
