Description
This lot features a vintage box of 50 Hiawatha ACE .22 Long Rifle high-speed rimfire cartridges. The cartridges are comprised of lead round-nose bullets set in brass cases intended for use in standard firearms. The primary cardboard packaging is finished in yellow and maroon and features a profile graphic of a Native American. Key markings include the brand and model designation Hiawatha ACE and the caliber 50 .22 LONG RIFLE. The box front is further marked HIGH – SPEED, RIM FIRE CARTRIDGES, and NON-CORROSIVE. The reverse panel provides detailed manufacturer information stating the cartridges contain American-made smokeless powder and non-corrosive priming concluding with the mark MADE IN U.S.A. Most cartridges display a headstamp consisting of a stylized letter A while at least two observable rounds are marked SUPER within a horizontal hexagonal border denoting mixed contents.
Condition report:
The cardboard box exhibits moderate wear including scuffed surfaces, frayed edges, and minor creasing. Small tears are present at the corner flaps and some staining is visible on the yellow panels. The ammunition remains in live condition with various degrees of grey oxidation present on the lead bullet surfaces and light patination on the brass cases. Mixed cartridge types are present as noted in the description.
