Lot 138:
Sold for: $1,350
Description
This is a single-action Freedom Arms Model 83 revolver chambered in .454 Casull, specifically configured for high-pressure hunting and target applications. The firearm features a 7.5-inch magnaport barrel with four expansion slots near the muzzle designed to reduce muzzle flip and felt recoil. The construction consists of a brushed stainless steel finish across the frame, five-shot cylinder, and barrel, paired with smooth reddish-brown wood laminate grips. It is equipped with an adjustable rear sight and a ramped blade front sight, and the lot includes a separate stainless steel scope mount base with two matching rings and mounting screws. Prominent markings on the left side of the barrel read FREEDOM ARMS .454 CASULL over FREEDOM, WYOMING U.S.A. The frame below the cylinder is stamped with PAT. 4228607 and 4126953, and the serial number D 11005 is clearly visible on the underside of the frame forward of the trigger guard. This lot includes its original wooden presentation box with gold-tone manufacturer logo and end-labeling, a factory instruction manual, and a New for 1998 brochure. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The revolver is in very good condition overall. The brushed stainless steel finish remains bright with minor superficial handling marks and some light scratching visible along the barrel. The bore is bright with sharp, well-defined rifling. The action appears to function correctly with tight lockup, although the firearm has not been function-tested with live ammunition. The wood laminate grips are excellent, showing no significant dings or wear. The wooden presentation box exhibits minor shelf wear and light scuffing at the corners and edges.
