Description
This is a Winchester Model 94 lever-action rifle chambered in .30 W.C.F., a caliber also known as .30-30 Winchester. The rifle is configured with a 20-inch round barrel and a full-length tubular magazine, both of which retain a dark blued finish with scattered areas of surface spotting and light oxidation. The receiver shows significant wear to the original finish, presenting as a mottled gray and brown patina with visible oxidation and fine surface pitting throughout. The firearm is fitted with a plain walnut straight-grip buttstock and a matching forend, both exhibiting a variety of dings, compression marks, and light scratches consistent with regular field use. It comes equipped with a ramped front sight and a step-adjustable rear buckhorn sight. The stock is capped with a checkered metal buttplate. Prominent markings include the barrel address MADE IN NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S. OF AMERICA – WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL – and the model designation – WINCHESTER – TRADEMARK – MODEL 94 – 30 W.C.F. -. Both the top of the barrel and the receiver are stamped with WP proof marks. The serial number 1421386 is clearly struck on the underside of the receiver, and the letters DL are stamped on the lower tang behind the trigger. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The barrel and magazine tube retain approximately 65% of their original blued finish with thinning at the edges and scattered oxidation. The receiver finish has largely transitioned to a gray-brown patina with widespread surface peppering and minor oxidation. The walnut furniture is in good structural condition with numerous superficial dings and scratches but no apparent cracks or major losses. The metal buttplate shows finish wear and light surface rust in the checkering. The bore was not inspected and is not graded. The lever action appears to cycle smoothly, but we have not function-tested this firearm.
