Description
This lot consists of 150 rounds of .22 Long Rifle rimfire ammunition, comprising two vintage boxes and a quantity of loose cartridges. The first component is a full fifty-round box of Peters Dewar Match .22 Long Rifle cartridges, with the packaging prominently marked 50 PETERS DEWAR MATCH 22 LONG RIFLE and the end flap designated as NO 2296. These specific cartridges feature lead round nose bullets and are headstamped with an incised P. The second box is a fifty-round Federal High-Velocity Power-Flite .22 Long Rifle set, with the box face reading FEDERAL HIGH-VELOCITY POWER-FLITE .22 LONG RIFLE and including the text WARNING KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. These cartridges are seated in a white plastic tray and bear an incised F headstamp. Completing the lot are 50 loose .22 Long Rifle cartridges headstamped with an F, housed within an orange plastic circular container.
Condition report:
The Peters Dewar Match box shows minor shelf wear, age-related discoloration, and light fraying at the corner edges, while the ammunition remains in good overall condition with original wax lubricant present on the bullets. The Federal box remains intact with light surface wear and minor scuffing. The cartridges within the Federal tray appear well-preserved. The loose cartridges in the plastic container exhibit varying degrees of white oxidation on the lead bullets, commonly referred to as lead bloom, and the brass cases show natural darkening from age, though no heavy corrosion is noted. We have not function-tested this ammunition.
