Description
The High Standard Sentinel R-103 is a double-action revolver chambered in .22 caliber featuring a 9-shot swing-out cylinder and a 6-inch barrel. This model utilizes an alloy frame with a blued finish on the major steel components and a case-hardened finish on the hammer. The firearm is equipped with fixed sights, including a ramped front blade and a rear notch integrated into the top strap. The grip frame is fitted with brown checkered synthetic grips that feature a central diamond motif and the High Standard eagle logo. Verbatim markings include SENTINEL on the left side of the barrel and HIGH STANDARD MFG. CORP. / HAMDEN, CONN. U.S.A. / .22 CAL. on the right side. The right side of the frame is stamped with the model R-103 above the serial number 1298398. An additional identification number, 700-01-5625, is crudely etched into the bluing on the front strap of the grip frame. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The revolver retains a good portion of its original blued finish, though it exhibits scattered surface scratches and minor finish wear on the frame, cylinder, and barrel. The case-hardened hammer shows some muting of colors and light surface oxidation. The synthetic grips are well-preserved with sharp checkering and no visible cracks. The chambers and bore appear to have been maintained, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The action appears to function correctly in both single and double-action modes. The etching on the front strap is a permanent modification that affects the aesthetic condition.
