Description
This Marble’s Flexible Peep Tang Sight is a steel accessory designed for vintage lever-action rifles. The unit features a blued finish and a knurled elevation adjustment sleeve. It is built with a folding, spring-loaded base joint designed to maintain its zero position if bumped. Visible markings include the stamp PAT. JUL. 2. 07 on the side of the upright socket and a single W on the rear of the hinge housing. The underside of the base is stamped with the characters A and 3. These markings and the base configuration are consistent with Marble Arms production for Winchester Model 1892 and 1894 rifles. Included with the sight are two blued steel mounting screws.
Condition report:
The sight exhibits a dark patina with much of the original blued finish remaining. There is evidence of light surface oxidation and wear consistent with age and use. The folding mechanism and spring tension are functional, the elevation adjustment operates smoothly, and the aperture remains clear. The mounting screws show light wear to the slots but remain functional.
