Description
This Remington Model 11-48 is a semi-automatic shotgun chambered in .410 gauge and configured for skeet shooting with a ventilated rib barrel featuring a front and mid-bead sight. The firearm is constructed with a blued steel receiver and barrel, which show significant thinning, carry wear, and areas of surface oxidation with light pitting on the receiver flats. The stock and forend are crafted from checkered walnut, showing various dings, scratches, and finish loss from use, and the firearm is fitted with a brown Pachmayr White Line rubber recoil pad. Prominent markings include the model designation Remington MODEL 11-48 and the serial number 4104068 on the left side of the receiver. The barrel is marked 410 GA. FOR 3 IN. OR SHORTER SHELLS and SKEET near the breech, with the manufacturer address REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC., ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. and PATENT NO. 2,278,589 OTHERS PENDING stamped on the barrel. Proof markings include the REP mark within a circle on the right side of the barrel lug. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal components retain approximately 70 percent of their original blued finish with visible thinning on the receiver and barrel, along with scattered oxidation and light pitting. The bore is bright with some light fouling noted but no significant pitting. The checkered walnut furniture is in good overall condition with various handling marks, scratches, and finish wear consistent with field use. The action appears to function correctly, though the firearm has not been function-tested with live ammunition. The Pachmayr recoil pad remains intact with some age-related hardening.
